This One For The Girls

Marry Your Daughter – Brian McKnight Song Lyrics
Sir, I’m a bit nervous

About being here today
Still not real sure what I’m going to say
So bare with me please
If I take up too much of your time.
See in this box is a ring for your oldest.
She’s my everything and all that I know is
It would be such a relief if I knew that we were on the same side
Cause very soon I’m hoping that I

Could marry your daughter

And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me ’til the day that I die, yeah
I’m gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She’ll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can’t wait to smile
When she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

She’s been here every step

Since the day that we met (I’m scared to death to think of what would happen if she ever left)
So don’t you ever worry about me ever treating her bad
I've got most of my vows done so far (So bring on the better or worse)
And ’til death do us part
There’s no doubt in my mind
It’s time
I’m ready to start
I swear to you with all of my heart

I’m gonna marry your daughter

And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me ’til the day that I die, yeah
I’m gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She’ll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can’t wait to smile
As she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

The first time I saw her

I swear I knew that I’d say I do
I’m gonna marry your daughter

And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me ’till the day that I die
I’m gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She’ll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can’t wait to smile
As she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

Ever since I’ve watched my first Disney’s Princesses movie, which is Snow White, I’ve been praying for three things in my life:
1. Find a man who loves GOD more than anything
2. This man should be someone who loves me more than himself
3. This man should be the man I was madly in love with.
I would never settle if its one out of three. It should be all three or nothing at all. I didn’t pray to become smart, rich, famous or even beautiful. I prayed for me to find love and to be loved. I guess it’s because I always believed in my natural talents and intellect and knew that success would find its way to me somehow. I prayed for love because at the end of the day, I just want to BE HAPPY.
The song, “Marry your Daughter”, was dedicated to me by my special someone. He’s been telling me that he will sing it to my father, when the day comes for him to ask for my hand in ehem ehem.

Passport to Become a Government Employee

In less than few weeks, I will become a permanent regular employee of Department of Budget and Management (DBM). Nearly six months of familiarizing myself with the agency, helped me to become an effective government employee. However, my entry into the agency was not all honey and roses; I’ve had my share of bumps and anxiety along the way. Thinking of working the Philippine government? Well, not so easy. Before one becomes an official government worker or employee, he has to first take and pass the Civil Service Exam being administered by the Civil Service Commission.

Last October 2010, a dismal 12.66 or only 12,290 examinees passed the nationwide civil service examination (I'm proud to say that I'm one of them). Out of the 97,099 who took the examination, a total of 84,809 flunked.

Data show that 9,868 passed the professional level examination, equivalent to Career Service Professional Eligibility (CSPE) for possible appointment to both first and second level positions.

The remaining 2,422 passed the sub-professional level test, equivalent to Sub-Professional Eligibility and possible appointment to first level government positions.

The first level positions, the CSC explained, include clerical trades, crafts, and custodial service positions, which require less than four years of college studies.

However, the second level positions, which cover everything from professional, technical and scientific positions up to division chief level, require at least four years of college.

Although the National Capital Region (NCR) usually has the highest passing rate in terms of regional performance, only 2,215 out of the 12,161 takers passed the test.
The CSC noted that all the civil service examination passers are now eligible to work in the government but they must also meet other education, experience and training requirements of their desired career positions to be considered for permanent appointment.

In addition, all applicants to government posts must undergo an internal screening process composed of written tests, interview and other measures to determine the most qualified candidate for a vacant position.

I never hope that I will be able to pass the government exams until one of my friends informed me that my name was posted in the CSC website as “NCR Passers”. The next thing I knew I’m preparing my application at DBM and went through the series of examinations and interviews until I was hired.

Bonchon Appetite

The Korean invasion today is not only limited to music, beauty and fashion. Even in food and restaurants, we are seeing different food carts and restaurants with a Korean influence. And even in fried chicken, there is a Korean way of cooking it, double fried. And that’s what you can have at Bonchon Chicken.

Bon Chon Chicken has affordable ricebox meals like the 4-piece wings ricebox above  for   Php 145. You can choose two flavors, soy garlic and spicy. We had the spicy chicken wings.

The thigh ricebox is Php 95, it’s in soy garlic flavor. I find this lacking in flavor so I won’t order this again, it’s the spicy flavor for me on my next visits.
BonChon’s fried chicken is amazingly crispy and juicy in the inside. Let’s see if this will be a hit among Pinoys in the coming months because most Filipinos, including me, are used to the fried chicken with lots of gravy, hehe…
I also like the store’s interior and their menu display is so clean and bright like those of illuminated house numbers.

Valentine's 2012

“In my mind and in my heart, there has never been, there is not now and never will be another Labsie.”

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you.

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growin old with you.

I'll miss you, kiss you, give you my coat when you are cold.
Need you, feed you, I'll even let you hold the remote control.
So let me do the dishes in the kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink.
Oh I could be the man to grow old with you.
I wanna grow old with you.

Casa Roces: A Legacy

Named after the late great Joaquin “Chino” Roces, Kape Chino pays homage to a distinguished gentleman whose exemplary record in public service merited a Philippine Legion of Honor Award, the highest honor the country can bestow to a civilian. As colorful as the man’s life is the food that we serve: overflowing with goodness and bursting with fresh flavors.
Kape Chino serves Filipino and Spanish cuisine. The place used to be a house but it was transformed into a full-service restaurant and cafe.

I was a new employee at Department of Budget and Management. Our Boss treat us to a stomach-filled lunch. (Pictures were taken from another source, since we didn't have a good picture.)
