Series 1989: Asia Travels

Singapore has always been on my travel list ever since I started working. This time I get to experience Singapore with my parents. During our 4 days trip was enough to enjoy and explore Singapore. We stayed in a budget hotel. We eat along the sidewalks (their food was good!) and travel on foot. The weather in Singapore was similar here in Philippines - hot! So I recommend a lot of sunblocks and water.

We visited only the places that tourist normally go to - since we are on a budget. We always traveled via LRT (which pretty much like the LRT in the Philippines, but cleaner, more complicated and more safer).

The citizens of Singapore composed mostly of Chinese (good thing I understand and speak Mandarin, though they also understand English), Malay, and Indians. The food were mostly mixed with chili spices and tofu.

We visited the Marina Bay Sands, Marina Barrage, Garden by the Bay, Sentosa Island (Universal Studios, Merlion), Merlion Park and Chinatown Village.

We left Manila on May 24, 2011 at 8 pm, the flight was little bit late, because of a bad weather (it was raining a lot on that day!). But glad, that we we're able to took off to Hong-Kong. Upon arrival at Hong-Kong we were mesmerized by how organized their lifestyle is. They were very disciplined, they have signs everywhere, so it's impossible that you'll ever get lost. The bad thing during the travel is that, we weren't able to activate our roaming, so we won't be able to contact those people back home about our whereabouts. They have train inside their terminal that will take you to the luggage area.

The hotel was quaint but nice, they also serve great breakfast. I also like their bathroom facilities.

Our first agenda for the day is Avenue of the Stars. It's like Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

We next went to Victoria Peak, where we can view the panoramic view of Hong-Kong. Hong-Kong was a small country filled with high rise buildings.

Overall, my Disney experience was not bad, I particularly enjoyed the parade and the shows. By the way, the show was in Mandarin, but they have this side screen where you can read subtitles.

Next, on our trip was Shenzhen, Shenzhen was considered to be the window to China.

We only get to experience Shenzhen for one day, then we went back to Hong-Kong on our own.

Pirates of the Carribean - When you watch Hollywood movies, you're bound to have a Chinese subtitles. Wonder why we can't have that back in Philippines

One thing we discover about Hong-Kong is that they have these affinity for luxury cars. Labsie go "gaga" over them. He's imagining about having a car with lazy chair in it.
