Exploring Puerto Princesa 2013

Puerto Princesa pertains to the to a princess-like maiden who in the early days is said to have roamed around the place on certain nights of the year. On the other hand, its also pertains to the name to the geographical advantages of the place as a seaport – naturally protected the whole year round and endowed with a depth that can accommodate any size of shipping – a royal haven for vessels or a virtual princess of ports as thus indicated by Spanish colonizers on the country’s map.

My brother and I embarked on this journey during the rainy season of February. Puerto Princesa was popular because its very own Underground River was named one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Because of its popularity we weren't able to secure a permit to visit the said river because the place was recently hit by typhoon the day before. But I will return to the place to experience it.

Our Puerto Princesa exploration is a novel experience because, we didn't have a tour guide, we just rely on research and our homemade itineraries. The first day was attributed to city tour. We visited most of the important part of the island. We go island hopping on our second day which takes most of our days. We just enjoy the city on the third day.

Below are the pictures of me exploring Puerto Princesa
